Exciting opportunity fir Consultant level person to work in Ecology and Biodiversity.

My client is an award-winning sustainability consultancy looking for an Ecology & Biodiversity Consultant to join its growing London team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with good practical ecology experience who is ready to take more ownership of projects, develop their technical skills and work alongside experienced ecologists and wider sustainability specialists.
The Role
You'll work on a varied portfolio of development-led ecology and biodiversity projects, supporting clients through the planning process while helping to deliver positive outcomes for nature.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing ecology and biodiversity projects from inception through to completion.
Undertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs).
Completing Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments (BNGAs) using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
Producing habitat and BNG mapping using QGIS.
Undertaking UKHab and protected species surveys, including bat surveys.
Identifying common bat species using recognised call-analysis software.
Producing BREEAM Ecology Credit Assessments.
Preparing protected species and ecological reports.
Supporting senior colleagues with proposals and larger projects.
Attending client and project meetings.
Working with clients, consultants and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally already have experience within UK ecological consultancy and be comfortable undertaking straightforward projects and surveys with increasing independence.
We're particularly interested in experience with:
Preliminary Ecological Appraisals.
UKHab surveys.
Protected species surveys, particularly bats.
Bat call identification.
Botanical identification.
Biodiversity Net Gain and the Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
QGIS and habitat mapping.
BREEAM ecology assessments.
Technical report writing.
Experience or developing knowledge of areas such as Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) or Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) would also be beneficial.
You'll have a relevant degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science or a related subject, with an MSc advantageous. Ideally, you'll also be an Associate Member of CIEEM or ISEP.
Above all, we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about nature conservation, organised, commercially aware and keen to continue developing as a consultant.
