Are you an experienced Environmental Consultant looking to take the next step in your career with a growing environmental consultancy?
My client is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant to join their expanding consultancy team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse client base across sectors including food & drink, chemicals, waste management, construction and engineering, helping organisations manage environmental compliance while developing practical sustainability strategies.

The Opportunity
You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality environmental consultancy services while acting as a trusted advisor to clients. Depending on your experience, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor colleagues, develop new business opportunities and help shape the continued growth of the consultancy.
The role combines technical consultancy, project management, client relationship management and commercial responsibility, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and client-facing position.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop key client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact
Provide expert advice on UK environmental legislation, permitting and best practice
Undertake environmental compliance audits, risk assessments and permit applications
Lead and deliver consultancy projects on time and within budget
Prepare environmental management documentation, procedures and compliance reports
Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with regulators and stakeholders
Deliver environmental compliance and sustainability training to clients
Support business development through proposals, tenders and identifying new opportunities
Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to grow existing client accounts
For Principal-level applicants, there will also be opportunities to provide strategic client leadership, mentor junior consultants and contribute to the continued expansion of the consultancy.
About You
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
ISO 14001 Lead Auditor qualification
At least five years' experience within environmental consultancy or a related sector
Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, ISO standards and sustainability principles
Experience managing consultancy projects and developing client relationships
Commercial awareness with experience supporting proposals and business development
Membership of ISEP (formerly IEMA), CIWEM or another relevant professional body
