Make a Real Impact in Sustainability
My client is seeking a skilled Principal Consultant to join their growing Sustainability Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-profile projects that help clients achieve ambitious environmental goals while making a measurable, real-world impact.

You’ll bring both technical expertise and strong project management skills—building trusted client relationships, guiding design teams, and mentoring colleagues to grow their capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Lead day-to-day project management of client assignments
Undertake detailed carbon modelling and spearhead the development of this discipline
Run workshops and technical meetings with design teams
Prepare fee proposals and costings for large, complex schemes
Act as the key client contact, ensuring communication on progress, risks and budgets
Support and mentor colleagues, providing advice, coaching and delegation as appropriate
Manage your own workload and that of direct reports
Contribute to business development activities and client presentations

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a Chartered sustainability professional with expertise in:

Detailed knowledge of carbon modelling, ideally using OneClick
Planning-related reporting for whole life carbon and circular economy (e.g. GLA reporting)
Embodied carbon and materials knowledge to shape carbon reduction and circular economy strategies
Confident presentation skills to lead workshops with clients and design teams
Broad understanding of industry carbon developments and their link to net zero strategies
Knowledge of the wider sustainability policy landscape and certifications (e.g. BREEAM) desirable

What's on  Offer
At my client, you’ll be part of a diverse and inclusive team where your perspective and expertise are valued. We provide a supportive environment where you can learn, grow, and thrive.

Benefits include:

Competitive salary with discretionary bonus potential
23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
Enhanced pension contributions
Training and development programmes to support your progression
Cycle-to-work scheme
Hybrid working, including an option to work abroad for a set period each year
Enhanced family-friendly policies
Two annual volunteer days to give back to the community
Opportunities to shape industry best practice through professional bodies and initiatives such as NextGen
Online benefits platform (shopping & leisure discounts, 24hr GP appointments, wellbeing services, gym membership and more)
Regular team socials

This is more than just a role—it’s an opportunity to lead sustainability projects, support talented colleagues, and help shape the future of the built environment.
