Posted 30th October 2023

Highly regarded independent ecological consulting firm specialising in the renewables sector is looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a Principal Ecologist to work alongside the founding director in driving the business forward.

My client is looking for an experienced Principal Ecologist to join their team of skilled professionals in response to continuing growth.

As a Principal Ecologist you will lead on projects and also work as part of a larger project team. Your work will be varied, with a strong focus on renewable energy schemes and habitat creation, as well as nationally significant projects and more conventional development projects. You will act as a first point of contact by working closely with clients, providing clear advice and robust documentation to support their projects across the UK. My client choses to work only with clients who promote and support biodiversity as a critical component of a project.

Liaison with clients, planning authorities, statutory agencies and stakeholders is a key part of the role which provides excellent opportunities to further develop your consultancy skills. You will also supervise junior ecologists and subcontractors.

My client provides a progressive, professional environment combined with the benefits and flexibility of a medium sized consultancy. They recognise the importance of work-life balance and provides the opportunity to control your lifestyle through flexible working hours, home or home/office hybrid working and by maintaining your own project portfolio.

They are committed to attracting and retaining the highest calibre of personnel and provide you with an opportunity to flourish in an environment where your excellence and progression is encouraged, supported, and rewarded.

On offer is a strong remuneration package in a friendly, dynamic and flexible working environment. Supporting and encouraging your professional development by offering training and tools to develop personal careers and goals.
