My client has 2 exceptional opportunities available for ambitious and driven Ecologists to join their growing Ecology team at Assistant and Consultant level.

The roles will be based from my clients’ Castle Donnington offices.  They also offer significant flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.  This is an exciting opportunity offering the successful candidate a role that will significantly broaden your Ecology career.

My client is a growing Independent Consultancy working with a diverse range of high-profile clients and projects across the region and beyond.  They have a varied portfolio of prestigious clients including; landowners, developers, architects and local authorities, thus giving you great breadth of work experience.

Due to their ongoing success, my client has created this role to enable further growth and delivery of their strong order book.  They are looking for an Assistant and an Ecological Consultant to join their close-knit team and assist with the delivery of a range of projects.

The role will entail input on a variety of ecology projects; many of which would involve multiple protected species in complex scenarios. The work will be a blend of site and office work. You may be an experienced assistant ecologist looking to take the next exciting step in your career, or already working at ecologist level but looking move to a company which offers a genuine work/life balance, progression, and real competitive pay.

The Roles

Assistant Consultant
This role includes the opportunity to support with:
·         Collating and reviewing biodiversity data for desk studies.
·         Site-based habitat and protected species assessments and surveys.
·         Assisting with the production of technical reports.
·         Producing GIS plans.
·         Inputting into biodiversity metric calculations.

About You (Assistant Consultant)

Consultant Level
·         Independently undertake a range of ecological site assessments and protected species surveys, whilst working with senior support on large or complex projects.
·         Manage and deliver projects within client agreed timeframes and budgets.
·         Produce high quality outputs such as biodiversity metrics, technical reports, and plans.
·         Liaise with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors to deliver project work.
·         Support and assist senior management.

About You (Consultant Level)
·         Relevant degree in an Ecology/Environmental discipline.
·         One or more protected species licences or botanical ID skills to FISC Level 3 or equivalent capability.
·         A minimum of Associate level of CIEEM membership or be eligible to apply.
·         Experienced in producing technical reports (incl. Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Ecological Impact Assessment and Biodiversity Net Gain).
·         Good IT skills.
·         A strong drive for self-improvement and learning.
·         Able to use own initiative and work independently with minimum direct supervision.
·         Demonstrable capability of self-organisation, working as part of a team, and delivering tasks.
·         Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
