Exciting opportunity for an experienced contaminated land/remediation specialist consultant to join a highly regarded niche independent contracting firm, offering a highly enjoyable working environment on a range of interesting project types.
Our client is a remediation contractor delivering solutions on a diverse range of projects from small fuel spills through to large multi-technology remediation of brownfield sites. Regular clients include developers, environmental consultants, local authorities and industry. My client’s mission is to understand and manage risk in the ground.
As part of their ongoing expansion they have identified the requirement for a Remediation Engineer, reporting to their Technical Director. You will work with their experienced remediation team on all aspects of remediation including both site and office based. Candidates should have at least 2+ years experience in a contaminated land discipline. Ideally a portion of this time will have been spent in remediation. Working knowledge of a range of remedial technologies, asbestos in soil and the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste: Development Industry Code of Practice would also be advantageous. A valid driving licence is essential.

Design, delivery and verification of remediation projects.
Duties (training provided subject to skills and experience):
Assist Directors, Project Managers and Senior Engineers with remediation proposals and contracts, including:
Pre-start organisation & planning of project:
• producing remediation strategies, method statements, risk assessments
• co-ordinating/appointing subcontractors
• obtaining licences, permits and regulatory approvals
On site implementation and delivery of projects:
•supporting site managers on technical aspects of remediation projects to ensure remedial objectives are met
•working with site personnel to ensure project implemented safely monitoring emissions in accordance with my client’s permit and implementing control measures where required
• carrying out site work including verification sampling, set up and commissioning of treatment systems
• ensuring site records kept up to date (daily logs, soil audit, validation, deliveries, etc)liaising with clients & regulators
• supervise/carry out verification sampling to demonstrate remedial objectives are metidentifying and managing on site design changes due to changing site conditions in liaison with my client’s Directors
• verification reporting including gaining regulatory approvals
• invoicing and client liaison
